WELCOME TO MATTIA CASE PHOTOGRAPHY

My main approach to photography is prioritizing taking the interesting image over taking a technically perfect and sharp image. I primarily shoot in black-and-white film, but I have recently been branching out to color and color film as my new home in Miami Beach fosters more creativity in color. The main inspirations for my work are the works of photographers such as Sean Dalton, Saul Leiter, Alessio Albi, Helmut Newton, and Francesca Woodman. Most of my works rely on natural light and sculpting that light to my needs as opposed to bringing light setups to create an unnatural scene. I often combine the warm, muted beach aesthetic and street photography with higher-contrast editorial portrait subjects.

 

I primarily shoot portraiture and street photography, with experience in various mediums of subjects. I am equally versed in digital as well as analog mediums of photography
